The Doors of Perception was not translated into any other media besides print. However, one particular quote reminded me of a documentary I have seen. “All that the conscious ego can do is to formulate wishes, which are then carried out by forces which it controls very little and understands not at all. When it does anything more- when it tries too hard, for example, when it worries, when it becomes apprehensive about the future- It lowers the effectiveness of those forces and may even cause the devitalized body to fall ill.” This excerpt mimics the ideology behind the documentary The Secret: The Law of Attraction, that is, think positively and positive things will come to you. To quote the documentary, “You can’t have a universe without the mind entering into it…Those who speak most of illness have illness; those who speak most of prosperity have it.” Many other famous names have spoke of such an ideology as Huxley explains. Winston Churchill once said, “You create your own universe as you go along.” My favorite quote, however, was given by the Buddha: “All that we are is a result of what we have thought.”
